CUHC recognises that playing university sport can be expensive. So we got out our abacus and worked out the typical costs for a CUHC member each season:
|Subscriptions||Michaelmas & Lent terms||£115 per term (2019-2020)||No match fees|
|Playing Kit||On joining CUHC||£50||Home & Away Shirt; Shorts and Socks|
|Personal Stash||On offer throughout season||£100-150||Completely optional (Trackies etc.)|
|Varsity Stash||Once a year in the run-up to Varsity||£50-100||Paid throughout the year via fines*|
|Socials||Various throughout the year||£70-100||Optional but good fun (Christmas Dinner etc.)|
|Blues tour||Pre-season tour for Blues teams||TBC||–|
Costs vary from player to player, so these are just a rough guideline. If you are concerned about the cost of playing, then we would recommend inquiring about the funding available at your college. Most colleges have a grant system in place to help students cover some of the cost of playing sport. CUHC also endeavours to cater to everyone, so please speak to your captain or a senior committee member.
*fines are fun, light-hearted & fair. They are paid throughout the year and are averaged over each team to cover the cost of social activities and varsity stash. Unique to the Men’s side of the club.
